Future Tense is a dance performance – a solo – that arises from questioning the relationship between future and memory: How is future present as a trace in our bodies?
In this process I approach the future by circling back into memories held in my muscles, fascia, bones and organs. I am treating memories as a material that is personal as well as collective, and transgenerational. I am exploring choreographic procedures to bend time, to suspend time, to time traveling.
I am currently in stage of creation, the final work will premiere in May 2027 at the Spring Performing Arts Festival, Utrecht.
In Future Tense I continue collaborating with artists with whom I had worked on my previous creations: Vinny Jones (light artist), Nahuel Cano (sound artist), and Bek Berger (dramaturg). In that sense it inscribes within a longer trajectory of research and creation.
Connected but also independent to the performance, I propose a series of participative events aimed at people of all ages and bodies. These activities are context responsive, they are organized in conversation with the host institutions and local community.
