This work was commissioned by Conny Janssen Danst for Danslokaal 14, created with -and performed by- 3 dancers of the company.
What do these muscles remember? arises from the belief that our bodies store memory of those actions that have been performed repeatedly, not only in our lives but also in the generations that precede us. In the piece a few of these movements are embodied by the dancers. Repetition works in the choreography as a spell to bend time, creating spirals in which every so often, it becomes possible to encounter each other in the same beat.
